TV Guide’s Season Three Preview: Jeremy Seeing Dead People

Posted by Crooks with Comments Off

“They have their own master plan.” Julie Plec, Executive Producer spills on the new season. Of course she’s talking about the surprise return of Anna and Vicki at the end of the Season Two Finale: As I Lay Dying. TV Guide’s Robyn Ross previews the third season with Plec talking about Jeremy’s new found issues as well as deconstructing the Delena kiss:

The season finale had another major moment: the kiss between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev). Did you hesitate giving the “Delena” fans that moment too soon?
Plec: I felt like it was something that needed to happen to end Damon’s story line for the season. His entire journey had been, “I’m not worthy of you” and at the end of the season, as he’s dying, she tells him, “Yes, you are; you’re worthy.” For her to be able to show that in a sweet kiss, telling him that she likes him the way he is and he doesn’t need to change for her, I thought was really important and a really nice ending to that journey. Of course, in their world, the end of any journey opens up the beginning of a whole lot of drama.

A New Face and Love for Tyler in Season 3

Posted by Crooks with Comments Off

Carina Mackenzie over at Zap2it has new information concerning another new character for the third season of The Vampire Diaries. For the fans pining for the Caroline/Tyler relationship may have to wait as Lilly Roberson will be playing a new girl in Tyler’s life:

When “The Vampire Diaries” returns on September 15, it’s Elena’s 18th birthday… and we’re sure that her birthday party won’t end without some serious supernatural hijinks. From the looks of it, though, it seems there will be a healthy dose of good old fashioned teenage angst as well. [Lilly] Roberson, who previously had a guest role on “Without a Trace,” is actually playing Sofie, Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) date to the birthday bash.

Posted by Crooks with Comments Off

The Hollywood Reporter got a chance to catch up with Executive Producers Williamson and Plec as well as the leading lady of The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev in a Q&A to talk anything and everything as well as info on the upcoming Vamped out events at this year’s Comic Con.

Kevin Williamson

THR: What can you tease about Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries?
Williamson:
We’re having a lot of fun with the originals, the original family. Elijah has surfaced and he’ll continue to wreak havoc.

Julie Plec

THR: What are you planning for TVD panel?
Plec:
We start shooting a week before Comic-Con but we have a wish that there might be a frame or two of footage that we might be able to show off. But we also have no idea what we’re shooting before then; it could be a complete and utter disaster. We could show up with nothing. But our plan is better than that. We’ll definitely have a nice little reel.

Nina Dobrev

THR: How will the originals impact everyone next season on The Vampire Diaries?
Dobrev:
The originals have come in and now that stuff has gone to the dark side. The whole chemistry of the show is shifting and it’s going be changing the relationships between people who previously bonded. Now that Jenna is gone and Alaric is single and that Elena and Jeremy don’t have parental figures, if you will, it will be interesting to see who rises to the occasion. Everything has shifted, and everything is off-balance, so everyone is going to have to compensate in different ways.

Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson Talk Tyler and Caroline

Posted by Crooks with Comments Off

There have been a lot of parallels between Tyler and Caroline alongside Romeo and Juliet, but nothing greater than the Season 3 summary that was released a while back noting there may be a war between families. Entertainment Weekly got the details from Executive Producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec on want’s to come:

Plec wouldn’t tease when Caroline and Tyler, whose werewolf bite is fatal to a vampire, might make it official. But she did answer another burning question only I had?: Was Tyler still naked under that blanket when he woke up on the couch after the full moon in the sacrifice episode, thanked Caroline for taking care of him, and comforted her following her breakup with Matt? “As a matter of fact, let’s see, I’m gonna go with why not? Sure. Yes,” Plec laughs.
